‘FLOWON’ FEP / PFA Lined Strainer is used for purification and filtration of working fluid flowing in to the pipeline which contains contaminated particles like rust, scale, weld metals etc. The lining material used is FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) or PFA (Perfluoroalkoxy) , an inactive plastic compound which offers excellent anticorrosive properties. ‘FLOWON’ has in house 3 nos heavy duty plastic injection moulding machine which makes easy to maintain the quality of lining. FEP/ PFA granules used by us is of Japan / Korean origin. To ensure perfect gripping and to prevent the liner Breakdown, the liner is perfectly locked in to the Dovetail groove in the Body casting.
When the working fluid in the pipeline is passed through the strainer, the unwanted debris, solid particles are trapped in to the screen of strainer, thus protecting the further critical equipment from getting damaged. Selection of correct strainer at correct location is very critical to protect expensive and important equipment such as Pumps, Flowmeters etc.
In ‘Y’ strainer, the filter portion connects to main pipe at an angle of 45⁰, which gives it a ‘Y’ shape as its name. ‘FLOWON’ ‘Y’ strainer are equipped with large filter portion diameter area so as to achieve perfect filtration and eliminate choking of solid debris. As far as the orientation is concerned, Y strainer can be installed in both horizontal and Vertical position (which is always not a case). In Horizontal position, the filter leg must be point vertically downward so that the debris collected in the pocket is trapped in the bottom most part of screen. In case of Vertical position, the filter leg must be point downward, which naturally direct the debris in to pocket. As compared to basket type strainer, ‘Y’ strainer has low dirt holding capacity which requires frequent cleaning of strainer. Sometimes, drain plug is also provided at the top of cover to clean the choke line.
