Check Valve

Check Valve is a valve that allows the fluid to flow in forward direction restricting the back flow. It is commonly known as Non-return valves and uses, Disc, Piston, Ball, Plates etc for Operation. Like other Valves, Check Valve also have two ports, One for inlet of media and another for Outlet. Check Valve works on the basis of differential pressure of inlet port and outlet port. When the pressure on the inlet side is higher than that of outlet port, the disc opens which allows the fluid to flow in forward direction. When the pressure on the outlet side is higher than the inlet side, the disc closes which restricts the fluid to flow back. Check Valve is self-actuated which does not require any external forces to operate it. Check Valve are most commonly used where the back flow is a serious issue. For example, in some industries the check valve is placed after the pump to protect it from backflow. In Sewage line, check valves are used to block the backflow of waste which is serious issue.

SWING CHECK VALVE

‘FLOWON’ make Heavy duty Swing Check Valve consist of disc which swings on hinge pin through lever. The Major components of swing check valve is Body, Cover, Disc, Lever and Seat. The main advantage of using Swing Check Valve is the disc fully opens and closes allowing the full flow of fluid unlike other Check Valves. Also, the pressure drops and turbulence effect is minimal in Swing Check Valve. Seat and disc of swing Check Valve is metal to metal or metal to soft seat. The seating angle varies from 5-7 degrees.

SPECIAL FEATURE

  • For higher Sizes, Bracket-Pin arrangement is provided to increase body casting strength.
  • To avoid the Disc hammering, counter balance support with cylinder can be provided.
  • Arrangement of Drain plug with By-pass is possible.

DISC CHECK VALVE

‘FLOWON’ DISC Check Valve is made using High quality investment casting ranging from 15 mm to 200 mm. Disc Check Valve is normally made in Stainless steel material. Main Components of Disc Check Valve includes Body, Disc, Spring, Seat and Spring Retainer. The Spring Retainer holds the spring which guides the Disc open when the inlet flow pressure is higher than outlet. As soon as outlet port pressure is increased, the disc is closed restricting back flow. The Disc Check Valve is Metal to metal seated and is mounted in vertical position in the pipeline (sandwiched between the two flanges).

WAFER CHECK VALVE

‘FLOWON’ Single plate type Check Valve is compact, short pattern and simple construction as compared to other Check Valves. Due to its low moment of inertia, the disc enable at very low differential pressure which makes it suitable for pump discharge duties. The offset disc shaft and seat enable it for zero backflow for returning fluid. This types of valve are suitable to mount between the flanges. Due to its inbuild Face ‘O’ ring, the need of gasket is totally eliminated. Single plate check valve is Metal to soft seated (PTFE, Nitrile, EPDM, Viton etc) valve.
